9/11 Memorial Commemorates Veterans Day
The 9/11 Memorial & Museum paid tribute to those who served and those who are currently serving in the U.S. armed forces with a ceremony held on the Memorial plaza this morning.
As in years past, Team Red, White & Blue and volunteers from TD Bank placed yellow roses in the names of those killed on 9/11 who served in the military. Two Medal of Honor recipients, Master Sgt. Matthew Williams and Staff Sergeant Ronald Shurer, were in attendance this year as well.
The annual Salute to Service week will continue through Thursday, November 14, and feature several special tributes and performances on the Memorial plaza and activities for families and children. Find out more information about how the 9/11 Memorial & Museum honors U.S. service members and veterans.
