Statement of Work
Written in the days following the events of 9/11, “We Are America” is an expression of remembrance, resilience, sacrifice, respect, and healing, and honors the lives lost, the heroism displayed, and the enduring spirit of the American people.
WE ARE AMERICA

Our world was shattered, one early morn’,
our bodies battered, our spirits torn,
but we remained, with heads held strong.
We are America, We are America,
We are America, We are America.
Our dead and wounded, we won't let go,
those who save us, are not alone,
those who defend us, God speed them home.
We are America, We are America,
We are America, We are America.
Though you have scarred us, we will heal,
with hearts of passion, and wills of steel,
it builds our strength, this pain we feel.
We are America, We are America,

We are America, of every hue,
brothers and sisters, one family through,
bound in sorrow, and triumph too.
