Messages of Remembrance at 9/11 Memorial Museum

"Never forget," "always in our hearts," and "God bless." In the days after 9/11, these messages came to animate missing posters, signs and billboards. As recovery workers toiled to clear the devastation, they expressed their grief and solidarity by inscribing these words of hope on the Last Column, the last piece of steel to be removed from the World Trade Center site.

Obama, 9/11 Families, Rescuers and Survivors Dedicate Museum

“Here at this Memorial, this Museum, we come together," said President Barack Obama. "We stand in the footprints of two mighty towers, graced by the rush of eternal waters.

Artist Spencer Finch’s Memorial Hall installation “Trying to Remember the Color of the Sky on That September Morning” is seen in Memorial Hall. The installation includes 2,983 watercolor squares, each in its own shade of blue, and the Virgil quote, “No day shall erase you from the memory of time.”

The Second Annual 9/11 Memorial 5K Run/Walk and Family Day

On Sunday, April 27, nearly 4,000 participants joined the second annual 9/11 Memorial 5K Run/Walk presented by RXR Realty to raise awareness about the National September 11 Memorial & Museum and encourage volunteerism in memory of 9/11.

On April 15, 2013, two bombs exploded near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing three people and injuring hundreds.

A ceremony and previews for the 9/11 community will lay the path for the opening of the National September 11 Memorial Museum, marking a milestone in American history.
