Man Up

Wait a minute, fans

After consulting with Coach Moy

Number 19, Welles Crowther, with signature red bandana

takes the field

Ah, he calls out to his mother, Allison

And waves his lacrosse stick

There he is - team player, they say

44 passes to 33, and off they go

from the defensive area at the 104 yardline

Running, running, 10 yards, 20

He clears to the 78th yard line, the attack area

Number 175 runs by...oh, but his own BC guys join him

Welles leads them to the 61st yard line

Hm, 19 gets a penalty – Man Down

Opposing team gets a goal

19 heads back to the 78 yard line - Man Up

Hey, ho, he gets the ball, but passes to Smith

No, no, Welles is pushed back to 78 again

More progress down the field...

But...back to 78 again;

Helps fallen teammate up by the shoulders

And leads a few stunned BC players to the crease

Heroic moves, Number 19

You led your team to the crease

“And then I see this young man; I don’t know who he is, but over his face is this

Red bandana

He said he came down from 104, but how...?

Richard Fern ran by us, and he took us down to 61

I’m Lin Young, and there we found Gigi Singer, Ed Nich, and Judy Wein

He takes us down a few flights, but then, unbelievably, he says he’s going

Back to 78

Lane says this mystery man gave him a fire extinguisher

And then this guy passes it to me

He goes back to 78, I later hear, and finds Donna Spera

And takes her to Stairway A, which was protected by the elevator hoist room

He lifts up Ron di Francesco, and then finally Donovan Cowan – all safe

 – maybe 10 to 18 of us

We all worked together, but we he brought us there to the safe zone

Who was this guy? He saved us.

They say he ran all the way down to the lobby, but he knew there were more of us

So, like the firefighters, this legend, was about to go up again!

The whole way! He reached the light, but he couldn’t stay.

That’s why we went on.
