In the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, New York’s culinary community came together to support victims’ families and those working at Ground Zero, preparing and delivering meals during the nine-month rescue and recovery period. Among them, Chef Bobby Flay, a New Yorker, offered both nourishment and comfort to workers at the site. In conversation with Vice President of People & Culture Alejandro Victoria, Flay reflects on his experiences, exploring how food, culture, and community provide healing and connection in answer to tragedy and trauma.
