#Tribute2983 Campaign Encourages Acts of Service, Kindness
Josephine Smith, the daughter of a FDNY firefighter who was killed on 9/11, recently graduated from the Fire Academy. Following in her father’s footsteps, Smith says it was a “bittersweet” moment.
“Growing up, I wanted to be so much like my father,” Smith said. “I just wanted to go out and be everything my father was.”
Given her recent graduation, she will be carrying on her father’s legacy.
Just as Smith is honoring the memory of her father, you can join us in honoring the 2,983 victims of the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 and Feb. 26, 1993 by participating in our #Tribute2983 social media campaign.
On your Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages, post photos of your own acts of kindness and service and include the hashtag #Tribute2983. You can customize your posts to include details about your individual acts, and feel free to invite friends and family to also participate in the campaign.
