Join Us for the 9/11 Memorial & Museum's Anniversary in the Schools Webinar
On the 18th anniversary of 9/11, teachers and students from around the world will join us for the Anniversary in the Schools, a free webinar that aims to provide a new, meaningful way to deepen students’ knowledge about the events that unfolded. Registration is open for the webinar. Learn about what to expect from this year’s program in the video below.
This year’s webinar, which will be available on-demand starting Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, will feature personal reflections from:
Sofia Lachapelle, a TV reporter who covered the World Trade Center attack live for Univision
Col. Mark Lewis, an Army officer who was inside the Pentagon and helped direct evacuees and search for survivors
Kathy Dillaber, a Pentagon survivor and 9/11 family member whose sister, Patricia Mickley, was killed in the attack
Jeff Johnson, a member of FDNY Engine 74 who helped evacuate survivors from the World Trade Center
Frank Razzano, a D.C.-based lawyer who successfully evacuated the World Trade Center with the assistance of FDNY firefighter Jeff Johnson
The webinar will be interpreted in American Sign Language and captioned. An audio description will also be available. Sofia Lachapelle’s story will be presented both in English and in Spanish. Educators can register for the webinar here.
The webinar is made possible thanks to generous support from the New York Life Foundation.
