John Boehner, Ash Carter Pay Respects at Memorial, Museum
U.S. House Speaker John Boehner and Defense Secretary Ash Carter honored the victims of 9/11 last week at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.
Boehner wrote about the experience on his blog using online platform Medium: “So you hear what they’re telling you, but you are also reliving what happened. Your heart breaks for the families. The resolve pushes its way through. You stop to collect your thoughts. You are right back there.” He concluded, “I’m glad I had the chance to go. God bless America.”
Boehner visited the Museum on Sunday, April 19, and was given a tour of the Museum by 9/11 Memorial President Joe Daniels. Carter, who came this past Monday, was also given a tour of the Memorial by Daniels, and placed a wreath by the names of the 9/11 Pentagon victims on the Memorial’s South Pool.
