9/11 Memorial & Museum Among World’s Most Instagrammed Museums
Two years after opening, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum has been named the sixth most Instagrammed museum in the world by Instagram. The photo-sharing app’s Year in Review lists the most liked posts, hashtags and destinations of 2016.
Leading the list is the Louvre Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and The Broad museum. Instagram determined the results using geotagging technology.
With over 500 million active monthly users around the world and over 40 billion photos shared to date, Instagram is the third most popular social media network in the world following Facebook and YouTube.
