2019 Commemoration Ceremony for 18th Anniversary of 9/11 Attacks
On Wed., Sept. 11, 2019, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum will lead the world in commemorating the 18th anniversary of the horrific attacks of 9/11. Marking this important anniversary, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum will host the annual commemoration ceremony to honor the 2,983 men, women and children killed in the attacks at the World Trade Center site, the Pentagon, aboard Flight 93 and in the 1993 WTC bombing.
The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, beginning at 8:40 a.m. EST, at the 9/11 Memorial plaza at the World Trade Center site in lower Manhattan. You can watch the ceremony live on our Facebook page or on 911memorial.org/live.

During Wednesday’s ceremony, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum will be accessible to only the family members of the victims of the 2001 and 1993 attacks. The Museum will close early on Sept. 10 for the annual Community Evening and will be closed to the public on the 18th anniversary.
On Wednesday evening, the public is invited to view the world-renowned public art piece Tribute in Light from the 9/11 Memorial. The lights will be on beginning at sunset on September 11 and will fade away at dawn on September 12. Sunset is expected to occur at 7:12 p.m. that night. The Memorial plaza will be open to the public from 3 p.m. to midnight.
