Benjamin Milakofsky

Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer

Benjamin Milakofsky serves as the executive vice president and chief operating officer at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. He joined the organization in 2017 and was previously the chief of staff and oversaw business strategy.

Prior to joining the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, he worked at the U.S. Department of the Interior, where he was the deputy chief of staff to the secretary and the chief of staff to the deputy secretary. After working for the presidential transition team, Milakofsky spent three years working in the White House Office of Cabinet Affairs.

Milakofsky was the Department of the Interior’s ex-officio representative to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council (board of trustees). He also served on the Board of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and on the Board of the 14th Street Y.

Currently, he serves on the Crisis to Stability Committee of UJA-Federation of New York.

He is a graduate of Columbia Business School and has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Maryland, College Park. Milakofsky lives on the Upper West Side with his wife, Ali, along with their two children.
