Nearly 25 years after 9/11, many personal artifacts continue to carry deep emotional weight. This conversation brings together Alexandra Drakakis, Vice President of Collections at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, who will walk through the process of donating an item to the Collection, and Brenda Cowan, Associate Professor at FIT, whose work focuses on the emotional experience of donating personal items to museum collections, including the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. Join us for a meaningful conversation exploring the process of donating an item to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum’s Collection, and the care, consideration, and emotion involved in letting go. Conversation Series | The Lingering Toll: 9/11 Illnesses and Generational Impact
Wednesday, May 6 from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

This conversation will explore how the next generation is carrying forward the stories of those who have passed away or continue to suffer from 9/11-related illnesses. The discussion will be led by Visionary Bridget Gormley, joined by others who will share their own personal connections.

Join the Visionary Network at the Bowery Mission's Tribeca Campus located at 90 Lafayette Street, New York. Help their chefs serve dinner to over 100 residents. Tasks may include serving hot food, preparing drinks, limited meal preop, and cleaning up. Visionary Network Launches Memorial Beautification Initiative
The 9/11 Memorial & Museum Visionary Network has launched an initiative aimed at restoring and cleaning local memorials across the country. Volunteers are already hard at work, planting commemorative trees and connecting with their communities ahead of the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
